Hi friends!

I’ve really gotten away from buying bottled salad dressing in the past few years.  Not saying I never do, but I’ve grown to enjoy mixing up my own and I like being able to control the ingredients in it.  It’s generally a lot healthier and a lot better for you.  You can easily make a salad dressing with no sugar and fewer calories.  It’s really the best way to get a Healthy Salad Dressing at home.

One of my favorite homemade creations is my Healthy Greek Salad Dressing.   Can’t you just imagine this on that plump baby spinach or fresh crunchy romaine?  It’s perfect with anything with Italian, Greek, or Meditteranean flavors.

Here’s why you have to try this Healthy Greek Salad Dressing…

The ingredients for this are so incredibly simple and they are ones you might already have in your pantry.  I keep them on hand all of the time.  The best part about it this healthy dressing is clean eating AND a sugar free salad dressing.

Some of my favorites are this olive oil, this red wine vinegar, and these spices.  With simple recipes like this, it’s worth it to buy nice ingredients.  The high-quality ingredients really make a big difference in this Healthy Greek Salad Dressing.

Ingredients in Homemade Salad Dressing

I make my version a little more heavy-handed on the vinegar to cut back on the oil.  I find this ratio tastes amazing and makes this dressing healthier and more of a low fat greek dressing.  You will also notice there is no sugar in my dressing making it a great sugar free salad dressing recipe.

The lemon and spices work together perfectly too.

Serve this Healthy Greek Salad Dressing with fresh greens, piles of fresh summer veggies, or even over a fresh pasta salad.

You can make a batch over the weekend and use it all week.  I like to store mine in a mason jar so I can easily shake it up because it will split after sitting for a few minutes, just like at your favorite Greek restaurant.

It has worked great in this really fun salad dressing shaker!

You could also add some feta crumbles to really get that yummy greek taste.  But as is this is a delicious vegan treat!

Healthy Greek Salad Dressing

A simple and homemade healthy greek salad dressing!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup high quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup high quality red wine vinegar
  • 1 large lemon, juiced (or 2 small ones)
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, adjust to personal taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh black pepper, adjust to personal taste

Instructions
 

  • Put all the ingredients in an airtight container and shake to combine. You will need to re-shake before each time you serve it.
  • Makes a big portion to use all week!

Notes

I calculated the nutrition for this recipe by using 1 tablespoon of the dressing.  If you use more than that adjust the calories as needed.  This recipe makes about a cup of dressing.

    Oh does this ever look good! I haven’t bought dressing in several years, but I am not very creative with my dressings. Sometimes I just spritz a bit of lemon juice. This sounds so flavourful, I love all of the spices. And I definitely like more vinegar than oil! Yum.

      Hi Linda! I found some good ones for cheap at Micheals or Big Lots! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do… and remember I made mine pretty vinegar heavy– so If you don’t love vinegar you can adjust that a little.

    This looks so good Julie! I have gotten away from buying store-bought dressings too. It’s so much healthier to make them yourself.

    I’m going to make this and take it to my in-laws. They always use that sad looking dressing for pasta salads but this would be so much tastier and healthier!
