There is something about avocado and lime that is just so dreamy together. Perhaps it goes back to my long-standing love of all things guacamole based? I honestly could and have to go through an entire recipe of guacamole on my own. It’s a borderline obsession. Please tell me I’m not the only one!?
Well, in my effort to get that guacamole flavor without eating a whole bag of chips… I turned that classic guac flavor into a salad dressing! My Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing that is simply inspired by this dream team combination.
Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing
The base is of course avocado, cilantro, and lime! To make it creamy I added my favorite secret ingredient… greek yogurt. The greek yogurt makes it creamy and adds a little protein to your dressing. And as a mainly vegetarian, I am always looking for new ways to add protein to my diet.

This is also quite lovely on a big batch of curly kale! Massage it into the greens and allow to sit for a few hours before serving.

Sadly, this Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing doesn’t keep as well in the fridge because of the avocado but even if the color turns a bit, it still tastes good.
But honestly it’s so scrumptious, you’ll want to polish off the whole batch.
I used to think I had to buy a bottle of dressing to make a salad, but once I figured out how much more delicious and healthy it was to make my own… I’ve been on a kick! This Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing is no exception… healthy, homemade and absolutely addictive!

Use this Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing on my Vegetarian Taco Salad!
Healthy & Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt
- salt and pepper to taste
- Remove the skin and pit from the avocado. Put the avocado flesh, cilantro, minced garlic, lime juice, olive oil and greek yogurt into a food processor, small chopper or blender.
- Add a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach the desired consistency. I used 1/4 cup water.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
