In honor of the upcoming new year, I thought I’d spend the next few days taking a look back at what’s happened this year on Running in a Skirt. It’s been a wonderful and truly blessed year for me blogging wise. This site has taken off in ways I could only imagine when I started. It never escapes me that you guys are responsible for that growth. Without you none of this is possible so it only seems fitting to throw out a heartfelt thank you before I dive into this. THANK YOU!
While I love all the subjects I write about, it’s my food and recipe posts that really seem to be at the heart of this site. They are consistently some of the most popular posts day after day. I didn’t set out to be a food blogger, but I adore creating and photographing recipes for y’all and have truly fallen in love with it over the years.
To honor this past year and celebrate the great things to come in 2018, I’ve put together my 10 most popular NEW recipes of this past year. If you are newer to the blog, I hope you will enjoy this chance to catch up. If you’ve been here all year (YOU ARE AMAZING AND I LOVE YOU :-)), I hope you will enjoy the walk down memory lane. Feel free to hop on over to the original posts and pin and share away.

This recipe used to be on my site buried in an old post with a taco salad. I decided it needed it’s own moment to shine and was glad I did! It took off and became the most popular new food post of the year!
I had some leftover bananas one day and wasn’t in the mood to freeze them so I came up with these easy and delicious banana bread bites. They are perfect for a fast snack.

Apparently banana bread themed anything is pretty popular because these tasty muffins also did very well this year. I love they healthy swaps in these! The aren’t overly sweet and have wonderful flavor from the honey and cinnamon.
This super simple recipe is one I’ve been making on repeat since I posted this. It makes everything taste better. I’d go so far to say it’s a kitchen game changer. I initially served it with this Grilled Vegetable Buddha Bowl, but it’s been making regular appearances in my recipes since.
This heartier smoothie came with it’s own fancy video! Head on over to the post to watch me make this smoothie.
I also made a video for this really tasty cookout dish. It’s a potato salad made with cauliflower and is so delicious.
This recipe is another MUST MAKE! I posted this around Super Bowl time and you’ve got to try it for game day this year.
These are my three personal favorite recipes from 2017….
