Hi friends! I know the end of the month is technically Monday, but Monday is New & Shiny Site Launch Day!, so I thought I’d do my monthly review post a day early!
This has been a good month for both myself and this site.
Blog wise, several of my food posts gained momentum on Pinterest and Foodgawker, helping my page views this month. I’ve also been pretty proud of my food pictures lately and have been getting really excited when they turn out well.
Behind the scenes I’ve spent the month working out the kinks in the new site design. It’s meant some long nights staring at the computer fixing things, but I know it will be worth it in the long run.
I am also so excited I got the chance to share with you the flying story this month. Aviation is a big part of my life and NOT talking about it just didn’t seem right anymore. I’m so happy you guys were receptive to it. Have I told you guys how amazing you are lately? Because you are!
On a personal note, it’s been a packed summer with out of town visitors and trips. It’s been full of fun, but I am looking forward to some down time The hubs work gets much busier in September and October, so I think some calmer days are in my future.
So without further ado or fanfare, here are this months top posts! *cue the trumpets!*

I think I should! I have several questions about it here. I got a decent camera, took a class and generally started putting a lot more thought and intention into it. Sounds like a post in the making…
I loved that post about the trip to the Bahamas. I’d love to be able to do that, under my own power!

It’s always so exciting when a post gets some love! I am glad you’ve been seeing some great results with Foodgawker and Pinterest. They are definitely great sources for traffic.
Totally! Especially if you can get your picture into Foodgawker!
I love posts like this! As a new reader, it’s really useful to see your top posts so I don’t have to go way back in the archives. Definitely will be catching up 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Thanks Gretchen! I’m so glad you are here!
What a great month for you and I am so excited to see your new site on Monday! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you Heather! I really appreciate that!
Your food posts do turn out so well.I seem to struggle with the photos a bit if you have any tips for me let me know! I am not on foodgawker-should I be?
The lighting really helped me a lot. I also got a tripod and that helped. Foodgawker is great for traffic… very hard to get your picture approved though. It makes me try really hard to get better though. Each picture gets approved or denied and I still get stuff denied! If you want to chat picture tips sometime… let me know!
can’t wait until Monday…August has been good..two more workouts until I can say I only missed one in August…August is transition back to soccer and church activities…got to see one of my VBX students again…just like old times
That’s great! Glad you had a great month!
