Ingredients:
Here's an overview of what you'll need to make this Air Fryer Gnocchi recipe, but keep scrolling for the full recipe amounts.
- Gnocchi: Use your favorite store-bought gnocchi for this recipe. You can buy either the shelf-stable or refrigerated types. I like to keep some shelf-stable gnocchi in my pantry with my pasta for easy dinners like this one. They also make some that are sold in the frozen section, including Trader Joe's cauliflower gnocchi or sweet potato gnocchi; you'll just need to cook them longer. I've included those instructions below. You do not want to thaw the gnocchi. You can also use homemade gnocchi.
- Olive Oil: The olive oil allows the gnocchi to turn crispy. I normally don't use this much olive oil in a recipe, but it really is needed to get that crispy shell.
- Italian Seasoning: I like to use my own Homemade Italian Seasoning Mix or a favorite store-bought version. You can also use a blend of basil, oregano, rosemary, and thyme. You can easily change the seasonings to get different flavors. I've included those ideas below.
- Garlic Salt: Garlic Salt is the perfect way to get a garlic flavor into the gnocchi. Using fresh garlic would just burn in the air fryer, so I like the garlic powder. You can also use garlic powder if you prefer. You could also add some onion powder.
- Parmesan Cheese: Grated Parmesan cheese adds a huge flavor punch and browns up nicely in the air fryer.
- Salt & Black Pepper:

Instructions:
This is an overview of the instructions to make this Air Fryer Gnocchi recipe, but the full detailed, printable recipe is below in the recipe card.
Step One: Prepare the Gnocchi
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the gnocchi with the olive oil, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step Two: Air Fry the Gnocchi
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Spray the basket with cooking spray. I don't always bother with pre-heating the air fryer, but you'll need to for this recipe because it helps the gnocchi turn out extra crispy.
- Put the coated gnocchi in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 11-14 minutes. Toss the basket once during cooking, about every 4-6 minutes. They will be done when they are browned and crispy. If you are using frozen gnocchi, you will need to cook it for 14-17 minutes.
- Serve with a cup of marinara as a dipping sauce.

Variations
I love this Air Fryer Gnocchi recipe as written, but here are some fun variations.
- Make it Vegan: Make this into a vegan Gnocchi by substituting nutritional yeast for parmesan. Most gnocchi brands are already vegan, but check the package.
- Make it Sweet: Toss it in cinnamon and sugar.
- Make it Gluten-Free: Substitute this gluten-free gnocchi for regular gnocchi.
- Make them in the Oven: Don't have an air fryer? Make this in the oven by cooking the gnocchi for 15-20 minutes.
- Use Different Seasonings: You can easily change the seasoning mix or spices to give the gnocchi a different flavor, depending on the meal you are trying to make. Here are some ideas from my collection of homemade spice blends.
