Here's an overview of what you'll need to make this Chocolate Chip Waffle recipe, but keep scrolling for the full recipe amounts.
- Flour: I use basic all-purpose flour for this. You can substitute white wheat flour or whole wheat flour if you'd like. For gluten-free waffles, use gluten free flour.
- Chocolate Chips: Chocolate Chips are a key ingredient in this recipe. You can use your favorite kind. You can also use mini chocolate chips.
- Cinnamon & Vanilla Extract: These add so much flavor! You can also add a touch of nutmeg if you'd like!
- Sugar: I use just a tablespoon of regular sugar in these, so they are not overly sweet. You can also add more or substitute maple syrup or honey, depending on your diet.
- Milk: I use 2% milk for my baking and testing, but you can use what you have in the fridge, including whole milk. To make these dairy-free, you can substitute dairy-free milk like almond milk.
- Eggs: Eggs make the magic happen and help keep everything together. To prepare the large eggs, crack them in a bowl and lightly beat them.
- Butter: I love the butter flavor in waffles, so I use it here, but you can use your favorite oil, including coconut oil. The butter will need to be melted in the microwave to mix into the batter.
- Baking Soda: Baking soda helps the waffles cook properly.
