Hi everyone! It's been a wild few weeks with some unexpected traveling, sports, and Cub Scouts activities.
The highlight of the last few weeks was the boys' final Cub Scout activity of the year. They had a campout DEEP in the Pisgah National Forest, complete with hiking and games. They loved it! I went to spend the day there and then came home to sleep. Camping isn't my thing. 🙂

We had so much fun exploring the woods, hiking to a pretty waterfall, and having a picnic on the rocks. They have met so many good friends through this, and we are grateful. The boys officially completed this year of Cub Scouts and graduated to the next level, and I'm so proud of them!

We have also still been doing baseball, with some extra baseball practice in the mix. Both of them are doing so much better than last year. It's fun to watch them grow. The season wraps up in two weeks.

And finally, I have an incredibly sad update to share with everyone. It's with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you that my Dad's wife, Margaret, passed away. She very suddenly had a stroke and a catastrophic brain bleed that she could not recover from. I spent the better part of two weeks in Orlando helping my Dad, while she was in hospice.
This is especially hard because my Dad lost my Mom suddenly back in 2012. Long-time readers may remember me writing about it here, here, and here.
Margaret was such a beautiful, vibrant person and was such a gift to my Dad. They were so happy, traveled extensively together, and built a wonderful life in Orlando. She and Dad got married in 2019. We are so sad to lose her. If you want to learn more about her, I wrote her obit. You can read it here.

Over the years, we have spent so much time with her and my Dad, making so many good memories. She was "Grandma Margaret" to the boys, and they miss her so much. Here are a few shots from our adventures. Here they are with our 1 year old boys at Hilton Head.

Here we are on one of our many trips to Amelia Island.

She had so much fun playing with the boys in the pool! This is at Marco Island.

And here's when we went shelling on Marco Island.

And recently, when we had a Santa Breakfast here in Asheville.

Send some prayers to my Dad as he continues to very bravely deal with losing someone so close to him again. He is so tough and strong! We will miss Margaret and her bright light in our lives so much.
