Currently… (February 2017)

Hi guys!

Happy beautiful Monday.   I am dragging a bit today thanks to the Super Bowl.  I’m going to start lobbying for a 4PM game time!  Who’s with me? lol!

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and let’s get to business!

Currently I’m…

I blew through two totally random books in Key West… Hemingway’s Key West

… and Procrastinate on Purpose.

I picked Hemingway’s Key West because I enjoy reading historical books about places I visit.  It was a really, really fast read though and I was left bookless mid-trip.  The Hubs brought Procrastinate on Purpose and I swiped it from him while he was reading his flying magazines.   I mentioned in my post about my words of the year, that one of my goals for 2017 was to use my time more efficiently and this book really touched on that.  It was another fast, easy read for anyone looking to make the most out of their time.  It is very business oriented, but the principles can apply to most things you are doing.

Next up, I’m anxious to get my hands on the next Nicolas Sparks book, Two by Two.  It’s based in Charlotte.

I’m still listening to Kenny Chesney’s new album on repeat.  This song takes me back to the Abacos… specifically Pete’s Pub if you’ve ever been blessed enough to explore that little area of paradise :-).  I believe a repeat of this trip is in the works for late spring and I could not be more excited.

The Hubs and I just finished watching the Man in the High Castle together.  The basis of the show is what the world would be like if the Germans and Japanese won WWII and it is really intriguing.  It got a little slow in the middle, but picked up again at the end.  I think it’s still worth watching though, especially if you like history or period tv.  It’s on Amazon Prime.

By myself I’m finally diving into Parenthood! I got so many suggestions to try it and I’m glad I did.  Such a lovely little show.

With the Hubs work schedule picking up again, I’ll be watching a lot more tv shows by myself.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

My new leather coat on repeat.

Blue Apron!  With going out of town and dealing with some stuff in Chattanooga, I’ve been struggling keeping up with all the household stuff.  Blue Apron has saved the day more than once!  I’ve been enjoying their boxes… which mean I don’t have to grocery shop or meal plan for a few days… woop!

All the tea.  I’ve been on a bit of a hot tea binge since the holidays.  It’s breakfast tea in the morning and peppermint tea later in the day.  I got this really tasty Dean and Deluca Peppermint Tea in January’s  POPSUGAR Must Have Box and I’ve been loving it so much.  (I’ve been receiving these boxes as part of an ongoing partnership) It tastes good and seems to calm my mind and body, which is wonderful.

Check out all the other goodies that came in this month’s box too.  I’m really excited to try the face mask!

Focusing on…

I’ve been really spending some time working on Makena’s training lately.  She is such a wild puppy and is quickly approaching 30 pounds.  Her antics were cute at 10 pounds and maybe even 20… but at 30 I feel like we really need to control her more.

It’s a lot of hard work but as I mentioned Friday we are making progress!

After Christmas and a Key West, I’m honestly not indulging in much.  I’ve been focusing on eating clean and getting my workouts in.  I guess it’s just that time of year!

OH MY! I have no words for this movie trailer.  The kid in me is beyond excited about this movie and I’ve already told the poor Hubs that we must see it in the theater.

On the other spectrum have you seen the preview for A Dog’s Purpose?  There is no way in the world I can see that movie… the preview had me balling in seconds.  Like, huge tears… not pretty balling.  I’m way to sensitive about my dogs getting older and am totally skipping that one.

I’ve been praying for lots of things but a little peace and calmness is at the top of my list right now.  Wishing you some peace on this Monday as well!

Thank you so much for reading today!  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing more about Blue Apron.

I’m linking up with Marvelous Monday!

Your turn!

Sounds like things are going well! Good reads – I’ll check out the Procrastinate book, it sounds interesting.
“Iโ€™ll be watching a lot more tv shows by myself. Does anyone have any suggestions?”
The tv show This Is Us. It just started recently, still on it’s first season. Someone suggested it to me and I watched the first couple of episodes and was instantly hooked. It is a completely beautiful show about so many things, I think you would really enjoy it.
Makenna is just so darned CUTE!!! I know it can be tough getting the training in – I bet she’s doing well though =)
And I can’t wait for Beauty & the Best either. So excited, the countdown is on! Have a great week, Julie.

My future SIL also raved about This is Us… I’ll have to give it a try!

I just started watching This Is Us (on Hulu) and I love it. And Two by Two is excellent. I bought it back in November – a Cyber Monday deal, I believe (on Kindle.)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve heard great things about it.

I’m so excited to see the Beauty and The Beast movie, too! I think I’m going to take my mom and grandmother out to see it for a girls day ๐Ÿ™‚

I am glad I am not the only one excited about Beauty and the Beast- I can’t wait! I am glad you are still enjoying Blue Apron- it is a game changer!

I just finished reading a Beth Harbison book. Always something there to remind me. It is an older one but so good. I used to watch Parenthood for the first few seasons while it was on tv but then I stop. Maybe I should catch up on that on Netflix. There always seems to be a bunch of great goodies in those pop sugar boxes.

    • JulieWunder February 12, 2017 at 8:55 am - Reply

I’ll have to look up that book. I’m always on the hunt for a new one. YES! I am really enjoying getting the POPSUGAR boxes. Hope you are having a nice weekend.

I’ve been wanting to watch Parenthood too – but Jesse isn’t so keen. I think I’ll have to keep working on him ๐Ÿ˜›

I can’t wait for Beauty and the Beast either! I even have the release date marked in my planner!

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:56 pm - Reply

Aw man! Yeah the Hubs wasn’t interested either… I’ve been watching it when he’s not around and on the treadmill. Too bad we can’t all see Beauty and the Beast together!!

I want to try the face mask so badly. Need to wait until after pregnancy, which probably makes more sense when I need a more lively face, ha! I’m currently catching up on the DVR. I loved parenthood!! Such a good show.

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:54 pm - Reply

It is! Love it! Bummer about the face mask, but it will be worth it!

I did Blue Apron for a while and LOVED it! Sadly, even that took up too much time once I had my twins. I just finished reading The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. It’s a crazy murder mystery that I did not think I would like at first and then couldn’t put down.

Oh I understand! You must be slammed! So glad you find time to read!

My daughters are big time excited for the
new Beauty and The Beast movie. I suspect they
will see it more than once in the theater. They will
see it opening weekend full of excitement and then
they will see it again when they are more calm before
it leaves the theater.I will probably see it with them on that
second viewing. We are a big movie family.

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:53 pm - Reply

Such a fun family activity! I hope you all enjoy it.

We just watched the Beauty and the Beast trailer last night! It looks like it’s going to be so good; that was one of my favorite stories. And I love that you’re doing that leather jacket on repeat, because it suits you so perfectly.

Blue Apron meals always look so good to me!

Training is just never ending — but they do calm down eventually! I think Bandit is as big a we’ll ever go, and he’s just 17 lbs (which for us, used to 9 lb dogs, is a lot) I swear all the dog does is poop . . .

That leather jacket is super cute (except it’s way too cold up here for that right now).

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:52 pm - Reply

hahahaaaa!!! We had that situation too and we changed food and it helped. It was crazy.

I’m dragging a lot today, I stayed up way too late watching the Super Bowl last night! Still want that coat- so pretty!

loved the Parenthood series and was kind of sad when it went off…

Praying for a lot right now…had a lot of stuff hit me like a wrecking ball, some ok a lot of it, self inflicted…it’s going to take a while to get through…and also praying of where to serve our students at next year…it’s a lot, it’s a fire…but we will get through it

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:51 pm - Reply

So sorry! I hope you figure out the best way to cope.

Wonderful post, Julie! I watched the Man in the High Castle when it came out last year and it kept me interested. I think there’s a second season now but I forgot everything so I’ll have to rewatch the last episode of last season to figure out what’s going on!

I cannot wait to see Beauty and the Beast!!!

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:50 pm - Reply

The second season dragged for a bit in the beginning but then got really good at the end! You def had to pay attention though!

  16. I loved Man in the high castle! It’s so creative and eerily scary. We have to wait a whole year for more episodes?!

    • JulieWunder February 6, 2017 at 8:48 pm - Reply

Oh I agree! It was like it was too real! I almost felt un-American watching it… haha! WAY too long to wait!

I love Currently posts! Coincidentally, I have been on a hot tea binge, too. I think I am still trying to flush out the holidays. ๐Ÿ™‚ sending prayers your way for peace and calm.

Thanks so much Allison! Me toooo! The holidays need a whole month to recover from this year!
