Hi everyone! We are back from a lovely week in Florida for Spring Break. This year, we split our time between Marco Island and Orlando, where we went to Animal Kingdom. Today I'm sharing some of our favorite photos from Marco Island. If you haven't heard of it, it's a small island off the coast of southwest Florida near Naples. It's much more developed than Sanibel, but not as much as Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Check out our trip two years ago from the same spot. I published travel guides including The Best Things to Do in Marco Island and Best Marco Island Restaurants and will be updating them soon. It's a fun vacation spot that has pretty beaches, nice resorts and great food, that's not as busy as other spots in Florida.
I love this area of Florida because you get spectacular sunsets over the beach. We were able to go out each night after dinner and watch the sunset, which was so lovely.
Scenes like this make my heart so happy.
The boys have also learned to love a good sunset.
We call it sunset beach walk and usually head down the beach a little and collect shells at the same time.
Marco Island and this area of Florida is known for it's shelling. So much so that I wrote a guide for Marco Island Shelling last time we went. We spent a lot of time again looking for shells, including taking a shelling boat trip to a nearby island. We brought home a wonderful collection of shells again.
This time we also booked the trip to be half shelling and half fishing for the boys. They have just gotten into fishing.
They both caught some and had an absolute blast.
I think this was the favorite part of the trip for them. They think they caught HUGE fish and we're not going to tell them otherwise. 🙂
We also spent a lot of time at the beach and pools enjoying the warm air.
Here's us on the beach.
And here's the Hub's with them.
Jackson was loving the beach...
and so was Hunter.
We ate lots of tasty seafood including oysters!
And went to visit one of our favorite local dive restaurants.
We also got to spend some time with Dad and Margaret who drove down from Orlando to see us.
We had such a lovely time and I'm so grateful for the beach time with my family!
If you are curious about Marco Island, watch my feed for updated travel posts on going there soon.
Next week I'm sharing photos from the Orlando part of our trip which includes a trip to Animal Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom resort.
