Hi everyone, from a snowy Asheville. It's been a wild couple of weeks of winter weather, and I'm currently dreaming of sunshine and heat. I know a lot of you are feeling the same way! We have only had one full day of school in two weeks, plus my boys had sick days in the two weeks before, so I'm missing a routine of any sort. We were supposed to go back to school on Thursday, but another small snowstorm hit and canceled school again.
I'm tired. I know I'm not alone in this with so many parents here, so sending love to anyone feeling this way!
After last week's ice storm, which kept us home for about 4 ½ days, the boys were sent home early Friday for another, bigger snowstorm. We woke up Saturday to a legit snow globe with inches of snow blowing everywhere. I'm not a fan of snow, but this was beautiful.

It snowed all day, and we ended up with about 8 inches of super fluffy, dry snow.

Of course, the boys wanted to go out early, and we immediately got in some sledding and snow angels. Check out my Insta for a cute video.

Even Makena got in the fun! It ended up getting super cold (negative wind chills) during the day, so the boys had to go out in short bursts. The sleded down some of the big hills in our neighborhood.

We had so much snow and ice that it had formed on the house! The boys broke them off our upstairs windows.

The snow stuck around for most of the week, and they were able to keep sledging and playing in our yards.

I'm so grateful for our wonderful neighbors, who have given the kids built-in playmates.

The snow was too light at first to make snowmen, but by Monday, it had enough moisture for the kids to make giant snowballs.

The boys made this all by themselves, and they were so proud. It was really fun to see how excited they were about it!

We finally got our mid-week and were able to see a 3-D movie at a local theater, which was a great break.

But this second round of snow has us iced in again! It's been a long time since Asheville has had significant winter weather like this, and it's been a lot to manage the last few weeks. Hoping for an early spring and some school days next week!
Hope everyone is keeping their sanity! My prayers are with all of the parents navigating this with us.
