Hi everyone! I'm currently waiting like everyone else to find out just how bad this ice storm is going to be this weekend. It was exciting when it looked like a bunch of snow, but the ice has me freaked out. It looks like barely any snow now, and mainly ice. Asheville's infrastructure is so weak from Hurricane Helene that I'm really worried about what will happen if the ice is as bad as forecasted at this moment. The power goes out frequently now, anytime it's windy. There are still loose limbs on trees, and our water system still feels unstable.
I'm just praying that we can get through this without major disruption to our lives. Sending prayers to everyone who is in the same situation right now.
It's been a doozy of a January so far. We got another round of sickness that made it through the family. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as the stomach flu, but it has dragged on for weeks and has slowed us down a lot over the past few weeks. Hunter also had a hairline fracture on his heel and was in a boot for two weeks. We also had a dead car battery one day this week. I'm grateful none of our problems have been major, but it's definitely caused us to have a slower month. I've been really appreciating small things with all of this and being grateful when things go as planned.
In fact, I realized I had no photos of the boys to share with y'all this week. So they disgruntledly took these on Thursday afternoon. 🙂

And here's Makena!

One of the highlights of the past few weeks is the boys playing with their Christmas gift. Santa brought them these Nighthawks, and they are so much fun! I'm going to share a video on Instagram so you can see them, but they are a blast.
We got them on a Black Friday deal, but they are also on Amazon. The boys have been begging to go outside and play! If you have boys who need something to do outside, they will love this.

It's also been really cold, so I took the boys to a movie one day! It was such a fun treat for us all. Charlie the Wonder Dog was super cute for kids and adults.

And here's Makena staying warm, which is what we've all been trying to do lately!

That's all for this week. We'll be hanging low, praying we don't get the inch of ice they are forecasting for our area! Sending love to everyone around us to stay safe and warm this weekend.
Love, Julie
