Hi everyone! The boys finished their second week of school today, and so far they are doing good. It's been a big change from our summer lack of routine to jump back into school, and I'm proud of them for doing it. They have been really tired, though! I know first grade is going to be a lot harder.
In other news, we started soccer again this week. We signed up for the rec league this time with the longer games, and so far it's been good.
We also had the absolute best Labor Day weekend! My brother and his family came up to hang out and go apple picking at Jeter Mountain.
It was such a fun time!
It's become a tradition to go apple picking with them, and I'm so glad they have been able to come up here for us to do it! It was a bit crowded, but we still had a lot of fun. This was our third time going up there together, which started when Holden was just a baby. We had planned to go last year that Saturday after Helene hit, and of course, had to call it off.
It was a gorgeous day at the farm, too! I'm hoping we get to do some of those fall things we missed out on doing last year with Helene. I think our whole community is a little nervous about the anniversary coming up though. It's going to be a hard day for a lot of people.
We also did one last summer activity and went to a Tourists game. I just love our little baseball stadium.
It was the last one of the season, and we had so much fun. The boys were really into it this time and followed most of the game.
We even got to see the Labor Day fireworks.
We're finally settling a bit into our new routine. It's feeling good to get back into my work, too. I'm so grateful I was able to work ahead and take off most of the summer with them. It was a real gift!
This weekend we have our first soccer game, and we're hoping for some nice home time too, without a lot planned. I hope you have a good weekend too! Come back on Monday for a brand new dinner recipe. 🙂
