Hi everyone! It's been a pretty low-key week with school, work, and activities. The Hub has also been working a lot with the upcoming tax deadlines.
The highlight of the week was taking the boys to the Mountain State Fair. I was gifted tickets, and we went on Sunday before it closed and had so much fun. I hadn't been in years and I was surprised how much fun we had. The boys were completely obsessed, too.
They really don't love fast rides, but some of the kids' rides and the bumper cars were a huge hit.
And here's proof I was there!
We also loved the chair lift to see the entire fair.
I'm pretty sure they are going to beg to go back next year, too. Here's what else has been going on behind the scenes in my world.
Currently...
Reading...
Next up, my reading cue is Remarkably Bright Creatures, which my MIL and SIL both loved. It's a book about a widow who forms an unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus in an aquarium. Together, they uncover the truth about her son's tragic disappearance.
I also just got a new travel guidebook for our big trip next summer. Check out this link for a hint on where we are going. 🙂
Listening...
This song totally speaks to me! I just love Lainey Wilson.
Watching...
So I obviously watched the last episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty this week, and I was so happy with how it ended. Did you hear there is now a movie? I'm way too invested in this show. 🙂
I'm also loving the latest season of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Next, I'm going to The Studio on AppleTV, which won a bunch of Emmys.
Buying...
I'm always looking for small, quiet toys or crafts that the boys can do while we eat out. I picked up these Magnet Building Blocks the other day, and they are great. If you have active kids and need some toys for restaurants and such, try these. They are compact and come in a small travel bag, which is perfect. They are also on a really good sale right now.
I also am totally cracking myself up with these two new Halloween inflatables. They were a great deal! I just love the way my kids get such a kick out of these giant inflatables. It's such an easy way to bring some cheer and smiles to kids. Here's the ghost with a broomstick, which is over 6 feet tall. And here's the dinosaur, which is 7 feet tall. 🙂
Wearing...
Jeans aren't really something I wear often, but since the styles of them have changed so much in the past few years, I've felt compelled to buy a few new pairs. Can I still be on team skinny jeans, though? I can't handle the big baggy ones; they are just not my thing. I'm not into any ripped or frayed, so these worked for me.
I had some Amazon gift cards and splurged on these MOTHER Jeans. They are worth the hype.
Eating...
With our new nightly activities, I've had to get creative with some fast dinners. We have been loving this Goat Cheese Pasta that was just published on the blog. It's a great back-to-school meal.
Drinking & Indulging...
Big lemonades at the fair and some fair treats!
Anticipating...
I'm already getting excited about the holiday season. I feel like Halloween is going to be here in a blink, and then it all happens so fast!
Praying...
The boys have had a really good start to the school year, and I pray nightly that they can keep it up and for their amazing teacher.
