Healthy Peppermint Chocolate Smoothie

  • 1 large banana or two small ones, frozen
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ¼ cup greek yogurt
  • 1-2 drops peppermint extract, see notes
  • handful of ice cubes
  • Optional topping: whipped cream, mini dark chocolate chips and Christmas sprinkles


  • Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth
  • If having as more of a treat serve with whipped cream, mini dark chocolate chips and Christmas sprinkles.


Peppermint extract is very powerful, so start with just a drop or two and add more to taste. To make vegan or dairy free sub the appropriate yogurt for the Greek Yogurt. You can also sub coconut whipped cream for regular whipped cream.
